Ghana's participation in the upcoming Commonwealth Games will also include weightlifting.

The Ghana

Weightlifting Federation will be participating in the Glasgow 2026 Games, hoping to win medals.

Three male athletes, Christopher Osei (94kg), Emmanuel Amo Boating (71kg), and Abdul Salim Adjetey (110kg) will represent Ghana in the weightlifting event at the Games from July 26-30, 2026.

They will be handled by Coach Michael Abotsi in their quest for medals. Nii Darko Dodoo, an official of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation is among the contingent. They left for the Games on Tuesday with high hopes.

The Ghana Weightlifting Federation team, the Black Cranes have prepared adequately and they have promised to climb the podium.

Jerry Ahmed Shaib, MP for Weija Gbawe is the President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation.
