An Accra Circuit Court has ordered the re-arrest and a two-week remand of Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, a leading member of opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He is facing charges of false publication, causing fear and panic, and issuing threats against judges of the Adenta Circuit Court through statements made on his YouTube platform, Ohia TV.
The court at its sitting on Wednesday, directed that Abronye DC be taken into custody pending further investigations and legal proceedings.
The development follows concerns over comments made on the Ohia TV channel which prosecutors say could undermine public confidence in the judiciary and threaten judicial officers.
Further proceedings are expected when he reappears before the court after the two-week remand period.
Abronye DC, who is the NPP Bono regional chairman, was first picked up on April 13, 2026, and was granted bail pending further investigations.
