A young man who claimed to be from Cameroon allegedly deceived several people with a heartbreaking story about searching for his late father in Ghana.

According to his account, the person who brought him to Ghana had stolen his phone and money, leaving him stranded.

He later reported to the Madina Police Station, where a concerned individual was contacted to assist him.

Believing the story to be genuine, the helper paid for the man's transport from Madina to Aflao, gave him about $150 to continue his journey to Cameroon, and provided additional pocket money.

A video of his situation was also shared online in the hope that someone who knew his late father could offer further assistance.

However, after the video circulated, several people came forward claiming the young man had been using the same story in different locations to deceive kind-hearted individuals and collect money.

Based on the information received from the public, the suspect was later arrested and is currently in police custody while investigations continue.
