A 19-year-old woman, Emmanuella Asante, has been remanded into police custody by the Accra Regional Police Command in connection with the death of a 33-year-old man at Ofankor Barrier in Accra.

According to a press release issued by the Regional Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, the deceased has been identified as Enoch Abrokwa, said to be the accused's boyfriend.

The release, signed by the Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, Chief Superintendent Juliana Obeng, said preliminary investigations indicated that on Friday, October 9, 2026, a disagreement ensued between the suspect and the deceased at his business premises.

The confrontation allegedly escalated, resulting in the suspect stabbing the deceased in the chest with a piece of broken glass.

The statement said Mr Abrokwa was rushed to a hospital at Taifa-Burkina and later referred to the Ridge Hospital, where he underwent surgery for a deep wound that affected his intestines. He, however, died on October 14, 2026, while receiving treatment.
