Three people have been wounded following the detonation of two improvised explosive devices on Imam Khomeini Street in Tehran, in an incident that has sparked immediate security concerns in the Iranian capital.
According to initial reports, the explosives—believed to be powered by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)—went off within a short interval, causing panic in the area. Witnesses described a sudden blast followed by confusion as smoke filled parts of the street and bystanders rushed to safety.
Emergency services responded swiftly, providing medical assistance to the injured before transporting them to hospital. Their conditions have not yet been officially disclosed.
Security personnel have since sealed off the scene, launching an investigation to determine how the devices were planted and who may be responsible. Authorities are also expected to examine nearby surveillance systems as part of the probe.
