Nigeria has officially introduced a 30-day visa-free entry policy for citizens of Rwanda, marking a major step toward improving regional cooperation and easier movement across Africa.

Under the new arrangement, Rwandan nationals can now travel to Nigeria without a visa for up to 30 days. The policy covers visits for tourism, business, and official engagements, making travel between the two African nations more convenient and accessible.

Authorities clarified that any stay beyond the 30-day period will require visitors to apply for the appropriate Nigerian visa in line with immigration regulations.

The initiative was announced by Bola Tinubu and is seen as a reciprocal gesture following Rwanda’s long-standing visa-free access for Nigerian citizens.

The move is expected to strengthen diplomatic ties, boost trade and tourism, and encourage greater economic and cultural exchange between both countries as African nations continue to push for deeper regional integration.
