The Komfo Anokye Doctor's Association (KADA) has suspended its industrial action after the intervention of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Members of the KADA operating at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, had taken this action to address demands that were affecting their working conditions.

In a release issued on Tuesday and signed by the Chairman Dr Michael Leat, KADA said it is suspending its industrial action following the intervention of key stakeholders.

The release read: "The decision has been made following fruitful engagements and the timely intervention of His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Hospital Board, Management and other key stakeholders who have demonstrated commitment towards addressing the concerns that led to the industrial action."

The release added: "While KADA remains committed to ensuring that the issues that occasioned the strike are fully resolved, we have carefully considered the potential impact of the prolong action on patient care and public health."

It said, "the safety and well-being of patients and the broader public interest remain central to our responsibilities, and these have informed our to suspend the action and continue dialogue.

The Association expressed profound gratitude to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Board, Management and all stakeholders for their efforts in facilitating dialogue and fostering a path towards an amicable resolution to the outstanding issues.
