The tourism industry has lost a pioneering figure and a vital link to the diasporan community.

Prince Anthony Bart-Appiah tragically passed away in the early hours of July 26, 2026, at his private residence in Spintex, Accra.

Prince, served as a board member of the Ghana Tourism Authority from 2025 till date and he was a former British Army officer, and a royal of the Akwamu clan.

Widely known as Prince Anthony, he was instrumental in developing and promoting the flagship tourism campaign, THE YEAR OF RETURN, which aimed to attract the African diaspora and boost Ghana’s tourism sector.

He was the CEO of Bridgezone, a prominent agency dedicated to showcasing Africa to Western audiences and fostering cultural connections.

Prince Anthony was also a proud father to two talented teenagers, whom he deeply cherished.

The Ghana Tourism Authority extends its heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and all their sympathizers during this difficult time.
