The Wa Islamic Senior High School girls’ dormitory has been engulfed in a fire, destroying parts of it and leaving students displaced and with most of their personal belongings destroyed.
According to the report, the fire started around 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 2026, when the students were left for their studies.
According to the headmaster of the School, Mr. Al-Hassan A. Bafara explaining the incident said the authorities noticed a spark of flames while students were away studying in their various classrooms.
He added that the Ghana Fire Service responded swiftly within 30 minutes to the incident after being called upon by the school authorities and prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the dormitory.
Also, he added that, the affected students have been asked to temporarily suspend and stay home for a proper renovation to be done before returning to the dormitory.
The other students have been asked to stay in the other parts that were not destroyed and continue their studies.
