Police Watchdog to Investigate Fatal Wrong-Way Crash

The Police Investigation & Review Commissioner (PIRC) is set to examine the tragic incident that occurred on the M90 motorway, which resulted in the deaths of two drivers. On Friday night, at approximately 22:30, the Ford Kuga was reported traveling northbound on the southbound carriageway near junction seven of the M90. In a matter of moments, it collided with the Vauxhall Corsa, which was appropriately traveling southbound. The tragic collision led to the immediate deaths of the 44-year-old driver of the Kuga and the 20-year-old driver of the Corsa at the scene.

Police Involvement and Pursuit.

Police Scotland confirmed that a marked police vehicle was engaged in a pursuit of the Kuga prior to the collision. However, the pursuit did not extend onto the motorway.
