The family of the late

Nana Barima Kofi Adjei Twinin has scheduled his final burial and funeral rites for November 27 to 29, 2026, after a court judgment settled a dispute over his properties and burial arrangements.

The former National President of the Ghana Hotels Association and CEO of Mac Dic Royal Plaza Hotel died in 2021 after a short illness.

However, disagreements among family members over his properties and burial delayed his final rites for five years.

Family sources say the court ruling has resolved the dispute, allowing preparations for the funeral to proceed.

The three-day ceremony will take place at Akyem Kwabeng in the Atiwa West District of the Eastern Region, where Nana Barima Adjei Twinin served as Akyempemhene.

He was also the Dwantoahene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area.

Beyond his traditional roles, he was a prominent figure in Ghana’s hospitality industry through his leadership of Mac Dic Royal Plaza Hotel and his service as National President of the Ghana Hotels Association.

Traditional authorities, family members, friends, business associates and sympathisers are expected to attend the funeral and pay their final respects.
