Legal tensions continue to rise between Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak and their former Technical Director Rene Hiddink as the dispute between the two parties remains before the courts.
According to reports from the previous hearing, Hearts of Oak requested that the matter be resolved through an out-of-court settlement. The club also proposed a structured payment plan to clear the outstanding debt owed to Hiddink. However, the proposal was reportedly rejected by the legal team representing the former technical director, meaning the case is set to continue through formal legal proceedings.
The dispute stems from financial obligations tied to Hiddink’s tenure at the club, which later resulted in sanctions from world football governing body FIFA. As part of the ruling, the Phobians were handed a three-window transfer ban and ordered to pay a fine totaling $146,000.
Despite the ongoing legal challenge, the club’s leadership remains determined to resolve the issue. Owner Togbe Afede XIV is reportedly pushing for the debt to be cleared before the end of the season. The aim is to lift the transfer restrictions and allow the club to strengthen its squad ahead of upcoming campaigns.
With Hearts of Oak eager to rebuild and compete strongly in the Ghana Premier League, settling the Hiddink case has become a key priority for the club’s management.
