Senegal Targets 2032 AFCON Hosting Rights
Senegal has officially declared its interest in hosting the 2032 Africa Cup of Nations, with the announcement made on Monday by Khady Diène Gaye during a parliamentary session.
The bid would mark Senegal’s return as AFCON hosts for the first time since 1992, as the country looks to build on its rise as one of Africa’s strongest football nations.
Government officials are expected to highlight the country’s sporting infrastructure, passionate football culture, and experience in hosting major events as part of the proposed bid.
Since lifting their first AFCON title in 2021, Senegal have continued to strengthen their reputation on the continental stage, producing top-level performances and internationally recognized players.
If awarded the tournament, AFCON 2032 could provide a major economic and sporting boost for Senegal, while giving local fans the chance to celebrate Africa’s biggest football competition on home soil once again.
