Tallest man an in Ghana Sulemana Abdul Samed dies at 33

Abdul-Samed Sulemana, popularly known as Awuche and widely believed to be Ghana's tallest man, has passed away at the age of 33.

According to reports, Awuche died in the early hours of Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), where he had been receiving treatment after his health deteriorated due to complications from gigantism.

His death comes just weeks after businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama pledged to fully cover all his medical expenses following a public appeal for financial support.

Awuche was initially receiving treatment at the Baptist Medical Centre (BMC) in Nalerigu before doctors referred him to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for specialized care as his condition worsened.
