Dr Bossman Asare resigns as Deputy Electoral Commissioner of Ghana

On Monday, July 23, 2018, The office of the President announced the nomination of four (4) top officials for the Electoral Commission (EC) namely Jean Mensa as Chairperson, Samuel Tettey as Deputy Chairman, Operations, Dr. Bossman Eric Asare – Deputy Chairman, Corporate with Commissioners Adwoa Asuama Abrefa, Salima, Ahmed Tijani, Dr. Peter Appiahene and Rev. Akua Ofori Boateng.

The nominations became necessary after the former EC boss, Charlotte Osei and two of her deputies, Ahmadu Sulley and Georgina Opoku-Amankwah as well as the retirement of Pauline Dadzawa, a member of the commission was dismissed.

Dr. Eric Asare Bossman is currently the Head of the Department of Political Science at the University of Ghana, Legon.

He holds a Master of Arts Degree in International Affairs from Ohio University, and, also, has a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Political Science from West Virginia University.

He is the author of several policy papers in the areas of international politics, democracy in Ghana, and has teaching and research interests in the fields of Comparative Public Policy, Democratic Development, Public Policy Analysis, Human Rights, International Security, Globalisation, and Forced Migration.
