Athletics: Joseph Andoh Kwofie joins Baylor University in the USA

Axion X Athletics’ Mfantsipim School's powerhouse has taken another major leap, joining Baylor University in the United States to pursue a B.Sc. in Interior Design while competing on the NCAA Division I stage.

Joseph is one of Ghana’s most exciting young sprinters and the greatest male athlete in Central region Schools and Colleges athletics.

He holds impressive 10.10s and 20.30s marks in the 100m and 200m, after winning both events at the Central Region Super Zonals for three consecutive years.

He represented Ghana with distinction, winning multiple gold medals at the 2023 ECOWAS U-20 Championship and 2024 U-20 five nations championship.

Ghana Athletics President Bawa Fuseini has described him as an “amazing athlete.”

Now, Joseph joins Head Coach Michael Ford, a former Team USA Men’s Sprints/Hurdles Coach at the 2024 Paris Olympics, who has coached NCAA champions including Trayvon Bromell and worked with Olympic champions Jeremy Wariner and Darold Williamson.

He also steps into Baylor’s rich sprint tradition, shaped by legends such as Michael Johnson, Jeremy Wariner, Darold Williamson, Reggie Witherspoon and Bayano Kamani.
